Can all riders please note that there is a combined riders meeting for these two events on Monday 20th at 19:00 before the CA meeting so it will not take more than 30mins.

Gents, the following race is being ridden by members of the Island Games Squad and additional riders. At present due to an 80 man restriction on the field size we have only been able to reserve 6 spots.  Any riders interested in riding should contact Graeme Hatcher on 450284.  A BC entry form and monies (£110) should be forwarded to Graeme by Sunday May 22nd.  Any later entries will not be accepted by the organiser. Due to the start time of the stages it will be necessary to travel on Thursday 30th June.

 
Additional info, which may be of interest/help is listed below:
 

The 4-day event will be promoted from the 1st July 2005 to the 4th July 2005, inclusive.  The event will be open to individuals and teams of 4 riders of 2nd, 3rd , 4th  or Junior British Cycling category status (i.e. the novice end of the category spectrum).  It is anticipated that in the main club teams will enter the event from southern Britain and already

queries have been received by the Welsh Development team to see if they are eligible for the event.  The event will consist of five stages run over 4 days, each of the following format;

 
·  Stage 1 (10.00am 1st July) - 45 miles road race based on Aber Hcap course - promoted by Cardiff Ajax and JIF CC.

 

·  Stage 2 ( 3.00pm 1st July) - 4 mile rolling time trial starting at Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and finishing at the pub in Llanhennock  - promoted by the Events Services section of the University.

 

·  Stage 3 (1.00pm 2nd July) - 60 mile road race based on 3 Cocks course near Brecon - promoted by Newport Phoenix

 

·  Stage 4 (10.00am 3rd July) - 50 mile road race based on a hilly course around Brecon - promoted by John Richards .

·  Stage 5 ( 10.30am July) ? 58 mile road race based on large Llantwit Course  ? promoted by Cardiff Ajax and JIF CC.

 

The event will be managed by a committee.  The committee will consist of;

 

· The Head of Events Services of the University of Wales, Newport.

· The Events Services Administrative Assistant of the University of Wales, Newport.

· The Sports Facilities Manager of the University of Wales, Newport.

· A representative of Cardiff JIF CC.

· A representative of Cardiff Ajax CC.

· A representative of the Sat stage club.

· A representative of the Welsh Cycling Union

· John Richards.

 

The prize fund will be of a value £25000. The Key Sponsor is Lifeforce, whose Director is Del Delaronde, a very keen cyclist himself.

Priority entry will be given to those staying in accommodation and teams of 4 riders.

Entry fees:

£80.00      (i.e. £80 is entry fee for those not staying in accommodation)

£65.00      (i.e.£65 for those staying in accommodation. An additional £45 is required for the 3 day's half board accommodation)

 

Catering and Accommodation Fees:

Helpers that are requiring catering and accommodation £57.00 for half board accommodation for 3 days.
